Moroni Feed resumes full production

Company back to work after suspension due to high grain prices

Moroni Feed Company resumed full production March 11, following a three-and-a-half-month suspension in response to high grain prices.

“Our growers and employees are excited to be back in production,” said Kent Barton, president of Moroni Feed Company. “While grain prices have corrected somewhat, we remain concerned about the amount of corn that is channeled into ethanol production under government mandates and subsidy programs.”

Moroni Feed Company was formed in 1938 and is the oldest turkey growing cooperative in the United States. The cooperative consists of 55 grower members and approximately 600 employees. Five million turkeys are processed annually by the cooperative.
