Petersime’s hatchery development department organized its first three-day Poultry Performance Conference at the Petersime headquarters in Zulte, Belgium.

The aim of the conference is to bring leading poultry companies, specialists and scientists from all over the world together on a regular basis in order to discuss new innovations and research findings. The members represent a cross-section of the poultry industry: incubation, breeders, bio-security, veterinary research, automation, etc. Petersime believes that egg incubation should be regarded as a link in the chain of poultry production rather than as an isolated process. The whole idea of the conference is to provide an international forum for the exchange of knowledge that is valuable to all of the parties involved.

During the inaugural event, topics such as chick transportation, bio-security, poultry diseases, incubation parameters and hatching egg management were tackled by representatives from some of the world’s leading poultry companies.  The event incorporated academic research and practical advice on industry practices, as well as round table discussions and informal networking opportunities.
