A group of entrepreneurs offered to buy the Pilgrim's Pride poultry-processing plant in El Dorado, Ark., that is scheduled to close in May, according to a report from KTBS.
The state will back the group’s offer by providing more than half the money, according to Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe.
Pilgrim's Pride filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December and currently is reorganizing.
