Alltech has become the newest member of the International Poultry Council, IPC, the company announced during VIV Asia 2013, being held in Bangkok, Thailand. The global organization brings together poultry industry leaders from around the world to discuss and address issues of trade and science, and improve relations among nations.

Alltech is honored to join the International Poultry Council," said Dr. Mark Lyons, Alltech vice president, corporate affairs. "This group is made up of companies, government groups and leaders throughout the poultry industry trying to find consensus on important issues related to trade, disease and standards at a global level. By operating in 128 countries, Alltech can help provide local understanding as well as a global view to this discussion.”

Formed in October 2005, the IPC includes founding members Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Egypt, the EU, Mexico, Thailand, Turkey and the U.S.  The IPC’s mission is to strengthen communication between the industries of different countries, to develop and recommend policies affecting our industries and to promote a common global understanding of and confidence in poultry products as the preferred source of meat protein.

“There are numerous challenges in the food chain around the world and only by working together as a global industry will we be able to find solutions to these issues,” said Lyons.
