EU exports over 800 million hatching eggs in 2012

Figures released by EPEXA - the Association of Hatching Eggs, One-Day Olds and Pullet Exporters in the EU Countries - show that the European Union exported more than 800 million hatching eggs to third countries in 2012, 6 million of which were from turkeys. Extra-community exports of one-day-old chicks stood at 120 million, of which 15 million were from turkeys.

Figures released by EPEXA - the Association of Hatching Eggs, One-Day Olds and Pullet Exporters in the EU Countries - show that the European Union exported more than 800 million hatching eggs to third countries in 2012, 6 million of which were from turkeys.

Extra-community exports of one-day-old chicks stood at 120 million, of which 15 million were from turkeys.

The association noted that the total trade volume of hatching eggs, including intra-community trade, stood at 860 million hatching eggs, with a value in excess of €415 million (US$551 million).
