ConAgra Foods, Naperville, Ill., has launched “Egg Beaters with Yolk”, which the company says will help calm consumer health concerns by providing a real egg option with a touch of yolk, 70 percent less fat, 75 percent less cholesterol, and 45 percent fewer calories than shell eggs. The new product is made from real eggs.
ConAgra says that 75 percent of consumers prefer a hot versus cold breakfast, and more than 57 percent would list eggs as one of their top hot breakfast choices. The No. 1 reason Americans say they love eggs is great taste, but only 40 percent are eating them at least once a week due to health concerns, ConAgra says.
