Perdue Farms employee named vice chair of Maryland Agricultural Commission

Charlie Carpenter, director of hatcheries and primary breeders for Perdue Farms, has been elected as vice chairman of the Maryland Agricultural Commission. Carpenter has represented the poultry industry on the commission since 2011.

Charlie Carpenter, director of hatcheries and primary breeders for Perdue Farms, has been elected as vice chairman of the Maryland Agricultural Commission.

Carpenter has represented the poultry industry on the commission since 2011. In addition the work he does for Perdue Farms, he owns a 186-acre row crop farm in Somerset County. Carpenter is a past president of the Delmarva Poultry Industry and currently serves on its board of directors and executive committee. 

Dairy farmer Scott Youse was named chairman of the commission.
