Poultry processor Allen Harim Foods hires Steven A. Evans as CEO

Allen Harim Foods has hired Steven A. Evans as its chief executive officer, effective September 3. Evans has more than 30 years of service in the poultry industry and brings to the company a wealth of knowledge, particularly in the sales and marketing functions, as well as in general management.

Allen Harim Foods has hired Steven A. Evans as its chief executive officer, effective September 3. Evans has more than 30 years of service in the poultry industry and brings to the company a wealth of knowledge, particularly in the sales and marketing functions, as well as in general management. 

In his most recent assignment, Evans most recently worked as senior vice president of sales and supply chain optimization at Perdue Foods.

Evans and his wife Liza reside in Salisbury, Md., and have four children.  He is a member of the Salisbury University Business Executive Advisory Council, the National Chicken Council, and a past member of the American Meat Institute, and the IDDBA. He earned a BBA in marketing at Georgia State University and has advanced his studies at the Wharton and Darden business schools. He is also active in community and church activities, participates in the Appalachian Service Project and enjoys numerous sporting activities.

Allen Harim operates poultry processing facilities in Harbeson, Del., and Cordova, Md.; breeding operations in Liberty, N.C.; along with a hatchery, feed mill and corporate office in Seaford, Del. It has about 1,400 employees, approximately 270 independent growers and 25 company-owned farms.
