Feed association appoints communications manager

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) announced Miranda McDaniel as its new manager of communications. McDaniel will serve as the editor of the organization's "Journal and FeedGram"  publications, in addition to writing news releases, working as a liaison to the media and leading AFIA's social media efforts.

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) announced Miranda McDaniel as its new manager of communications. McDaniel will serve as the editor of the organization's Journal and FeedGram publications, in addition to writing news releases, working as a liaison to the media and leading AFIA's social media efforts. She will also serve on the organization's marketing committee.

"We are excited to welcome Miranda on board as our newest team member," said the president of AFIA, Joel G. Newman. "Her diverse skill set partnered with her background in agricultural communications makes her a valuable addition to the organization and our members."

McDaniel brings with her a background in communications, joining AFIA from the American Farm Bureau Federation, where she worked in public relations for three years. Prior to working in the agriculture industry, she was a communications manager in the health care industry.

McDaniel is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. She is currently working toward achieving a certificate in social media.
