Flavoring company hires food technologist

Rita Singer has joined Wixon as a food technologist in thecompany’s protein, application, and seasoning lab. Singer is responsible for the development ofprotein customers’ new products, including seasoning blends and flavor systems,based on ingredient, cost, performance, and organoleptic targets.

Singer is responsible for the development of protein customers' new products, including seasoning blends and flavor systems, based on ingredient, cost, performance, and organoleptic targets. She will report to Bob Kaegi, Wixon director of protein applications and seasonings.

Singer has more than 12 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Wixon, she served as product development manager for Signature Brands and senior food scientist for Griffith Laboratories.

A native of Naperville, Ill., Singer earned a bachelor of science in nutrition from Benedictine University and an associate of culinary arts and certificate in pastry arts from the College of DuPage. Singer has served as a member of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and the Research Chefs Association. She lives with her husband and 17-month-old in Milwaukee. 

For more than 100 years, Wixon has been a provider of flavors, seasonings, and technologies for food and beverage manufacturers.
