An estimated 300 colleges and universities have now switched partially or totally to the use of cage-free eggs, including the University of California-Berkeley; Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Tufts, Georgetown, and others. But some universities, such as Notre Dame, have rejected pleas to switch to cage-free, after studying both conventional and cage-free egg-production systems.
UW-Oshkosh switches to cage-free
Adding to the increasing number of college campuses switching to cage-free eggs, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh made the move last month in its food service.
