The nation's largest regional poultry convention -- the annual Midwest Poultry Federation Convention -- will be held March 18-20, 2014, at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in Saint Paul, Minn.

Approximately 40 speakers will cover a variety of topics for the turkey, layer, broiler and organic/specialty poultry industries. The Midwest Poultry Federation Convention will again continue its expansion into two exhibit halls, which debuted in 2012. Hall B will include more booths than last year as the expansion has opened the door for more companies to participate in the event.

Pre-show events

The convention kicks off on March 18 with a pre-show Nutrition and Poultry Health Symposium, which will be coordinated jointly by the Midwest Poultry Federation and the North Central Avian Disease Conference, and the annual Midwest Poultry Federation Convention Welcome Reception. Also bringing attendees in early will be the North Central Avian Disease Conference and the fourth annual Organic Egg Farmers of America Symposium. Separate registration fees apply for these events.

New this year

New this year will be the Turkey Breeder Symposium on March 19-20, sponsored by the Midwest Poultry Federation and coordinated with assistance from U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service poultry researchers Dr. Murray Bakst and Dr. Julie Long. The symposium is geared for commercial farm and hatchery technical staff. Research lab personnel will include an in-depth review and hands-on demonstrations of selected methodologies in AI technology and fertility evaluation. An additional fee applies, and space is limited.

Details on all Midwest Poultry Federation Convention events, the full education program, list of exhibitors and online pre-registration are available on the Midwest Poultry Federation Convention website.
