WATT Global Media and Zoetis Global Poultry will host an exclusive panel discussion on consumer trust and the poultry industry, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, during the 2014 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). In this discussion, stakeholders will examine consumer attitudes about poultry and the challenge of building consumer trust. They will discuss the important question of "where does poultry stand with consumers and what must be done to strengthen their trust in poultry and the companies that produce it?"

You can join the staff of WATTPoultryUSA  and a group of industry leaders for this important discussion of issues such as corporate social responsibility, food safety, animal well-being, transparency in processes and products, the role of brands and consumer education and other topics.

Moderated by Gary Thornton, the panel will include:

  • Dr. Bruce Stewart-Brown, senior vice president of food safety and quality, Perdue Farms.
  • Dr. Michael Doyle, director, Center for Food Safety, University of Georgia, and Regents professor of food microbiology at the College of Agricultural Sciences, University of Georgia. 
  • Rich Kottmeyer, leader of Accenture's Agriculture and Food Protection practice.
  • Dr. Carl Heeder, senior technical services veterinarian,  Zoetis Poultry Health.
