Registration open for AFIA distance education program
Course will address feed safety and quality assurance
Registration is now open for the AFIA-520: Advanced Feed Safety & Quality Assurance Protocols distance education program. The online course, sponsored by the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and Kansas State University (KSU), will provide a better understanding of feed safety and quality assurance issues impacting feed manufacturing including how to prepare and respond to the implementation of the timely Food Safety Modernization Act. It will also offer training tools to improve feed safety and feed quality.
AFIA-520 will begin on March 24 and run for five weeks, allowing course participants to work at their own pace while engaging in online discussions about the presented material.
The course was developed by the feed technology group at KSU's Department of Grain Science and Industry in conjunction with faculty from KSU's Animal Science Department, North Carolina State University and leading industry experts. The curriculum is valuable to employees at all levels, even those who have years of experience in the feed industry. Register for the course online or download a PDF registration form.
AFIA and KSU have partnered to provide short courses to the feed industry since 1976. These courses are taught by a diverse blend of individuals from KSU and within the feed and allied industries and provide in-depth training on all aspects related to feed manufacturing.
