An outbreak of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus originally reported in Mongolia in April 3 has been resolved, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) reported on April 28. The outbreak took place at a farm in Nalaikh.
Forty-four pigs died, and another 293 animals susceptible to PRRS were destroyed. The Mongolian PRRS outbreak was reported resolved after stamping out, quarantine and screening procedures were carried out.
