PRRS outbreak in Mongolia resolved, OIE reports
PRRS claimed 44 pigs, while an additional 293 susceptible animals were destroyed
An outbreak of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus originally reported in Mongolia in April 3 has been resolved, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) reported on April 28. The outbreak took place at a farm in Nalaikh.
Forty-four pigs died, and another 293 animals susceptible to PRRS were destroyed. The Mongolian PRRS outbreak was reported resolved after stamping out, quarantine and screening procedures were carried out.
