A 70-year-old man from China’s Anhui province has died after contracting H7N9 avian influenza. The fatal case is one of six cases of human avian influenza infections in China that have been recently reported to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The man became ill on March 21 and was admitted to a hospital on March 21. He died on April 14, according to RTT News.

Three of the other human avian influenza cases occurred in the Jiangsu province, while one struck in the Hunan province and the other occurred in the Guangdong province.
