Media exposure casts light on HSUS

A recent television program produced by WSB-TV in Atlanta exposed the misperception that the Humane Society of the United States actively supports the welfare of companion animals.

A recent television program produced by WSB-TV in Atlanta exposed the misperception that the Humane Society of the United States actively supports the welfare of companion animals. Interviews with David Martosko of the Center for Consumer Freedom confirmed that the organization collects vast sums of money which are expended on lobbying efforts to advance the vegan agenda of the organization.

In a related issue, Dr. Wes Jamison, an ordained Baptist minister and associate professor of communications at Palm Beach Atlantic University, indicated that the "animal rights industry" is now targeting donors to religious causes citing passages "appealing to a sense of compassion, self denial and guilt."

Speaking at a national conference organized by the Animal Agriculture Alliance, sponsored by the livestock industry, Dr. Jamison noted that the organizations including HSUS which are opposed to intensive animal production and consumption of meat have recognized the generosity of people of faith and their emotional commitment to causes.
