Top Feed Companies database reveals 2013 production trends
Ninety-seven compound feed manufacturers produced volumes over 1 million metric tons, according to World’s Top Feed Companies report.
WATT Global Media and Feed International magazine launched the updated version of its exclusive Top Feed Companies database. The searchable database features more than 100 compound feed manufacturers and a compilation of historical and 2013 data. Each individual company listing includes its current production volume, the types of feed the company manufactures by species, and a detailed company description, which highlights recent developments such as mergers and acquisitions.
Within the Top Feed Companies database of leading feed producers, company listings can be searched by name, region and country.
2014 World’s Top Feed Companies report
The Top Feed Companies database was used to compile the 2014 listing of the World’s Top Feed Companies report. The World’s Top Feed Companies listing features 97 companies with compound feed production volumes over 1 million metric tons.
According to Feed International’s World Feed Panorama (March/April 2014), the world’s industrial feed mills produced 825 million metric tons of compound feed in 2013. In total, the companies featured in the 2014 World’s Top Feed Companies listing represent more than 301 million metric tons - or 36.5 percent - of global compound feed manufactured during the 2013 calendar year.
The 2014 edition grew to include an additional 12 companies that met or exceeded the 1 million metric tons mark over the 2013 report. While this jump can be attributed to growth in some sectors, the increase may also be attributable to an increased interest in the annual report and the willingness of new companies to share their data.
