U.S. egg exports down from 2007

A USAPEEC economist summarized export data for shell eggs and egg products, noting a decline from 2007 numbers.

USAPEEC economist, Dr. Renan Zhuang, summarized U.S. Department of Agriculture export data for shell eggs and egg products, in the Sept. 15 edition of Monday Line. During the first seven months of 2008 cumulative shipments amounted to 26 million dozen, a 46 percent decrease from 2007. Exports were valued at $23 million (88 cents per dozen) down 39 percent by comparison.

Cumulative exports of egg products amounted to $51.7 million, a 20 percent increase over the first seven months of 2007.
