The Philippine Agriculture Department has agreed to help poultry growers meet requirements of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources after farmers raised concerns about the requirements increasing operating costs.

"Our members have a hard time getting environmental compliance certificates," said Gregorio San Diego Jr., president of the United Broiler Raisers Association.

In a recent meeting with environment officials, poultry stakeholders expressed concern about the requirements to obtain permits and clearances and sudden changes in local government zoning ordinances.
