Saracen UK Ltd. announced its newest development is a true Halal kill system, which is the Muslim community's counterpart to Judaism's kosher requirements.
Halal requires the bird to be alive at time of slaughter, killed by hand by a trained butcher and not cut mechanically.
The Halal kill system consists of stunning the chickens before slaughter, which restricts the nerve impulse once the handmade incision has been made and protects the live birds on either side from this movement.
