China, Brasil Foods and Da Chon Hong set up joint-venture company

Brasil Foods and Chinese giant Dah Chong Hong Limited created a joint venture company. The new company will allow Brasil Foods to processes meats locally, develop the Sadia brand name and distribute and sell its products thru the retail and food services in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, as well.

The new company will allow Brasil Foods to processes meats locally, develop the Sadia brand name and distribute and sell its products thru the retail and food services in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, as well. The company is expected to generate 140,000 tons in sales and US$450 million revenue in the first year.

In the first phase Brasil Foods will be responsible for production of the meat products, technical support and marketing while Dah Chong Hong Limited will take care of the whole supply chain and distribution, products packaging and supportive services to the entire joint operation.

The joint venture company, which has been set in equal parts, will be co-managed by Brasil Foods and Dah Chong Hong Limited executives that will integrate the Board and the Executive Committee of the new company.
