The Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Chickens announced the first export contract of Brazilian chickens to China, involving 12 containers from Doux Frangosul.
The agreement between the two countries has been in place since the end of 2008. With the May 18 visit of Brazilian President Lula to China, the final bureaucratic hurdles were overcome.
"This news represents the fulfilment of ABEF's dream, by including the biggest consumer market in the world among the list of clients of Brazilian chicken," said Francisco Turra, executive president of ABEF.
