The Philippine Department of Agriculture proposed the creation of a livestock and poultry board in a recent meeting with industry stakeholders, according to an article from The Philippine Star .

Agriculture Secretary Arthur C. Yap stressed the urgency for its creation as a way to combat the supply and demand problems that have plagued the country in the past.

The proposed board would decide on various issues, including import requirements of meat processors and the implementation of intervention programs in corn areas that supply livestock and poultry farms.
