Pfizer, Chr. Hansen partner to distribute probiotic

Pfizer and Chr. Hansen have established an agreement to distribute GalliPro, a probiotic product for poultry, in Brazil, according to a Chr. Hansen press release.

Pfizer and Chr. Hansen have established an agreement to distribute GalliPro, a probiotic product for poultry, in Brazil, announced a Chr. Hansen.

GalliPro, manufactured by Chr. Hansen, is an approved probiotic (Bacillus subtilis) that has been used in Europe since 2007. The product increases poultry's weight gain and improves food conversion, according to the release.

"Pfizer's goal with this collaboration is to enhance its poultry-dedicated products portfolio," said Ângelo Melo, the swine and poultry business unit manager at Pfizer.
