Cal-Maine Foods names vice president of operations

Timothy Thompson, a Cal-Maine Foods employee since 1996, takes on new leadership role

Leading U.S. egg producer Cal-Maine Foods has promoted Timothy Thompson to vice president of operations, effective June 1. Thompson will have responsibility for all of Cal-Maine Foods’ production and processing facilities located in Arkansas. He will report directly to Sherman Miller, chief operating officer  of Cal-Maine Foods.

Thompson has been employed with Cal-Maine Foods since 1996. He most recently served as general manager of the company’s operations in Searcy, Arkansas. Previously, he worked in the same capacity for Cal-Maine Foods in Lincoln, Arkansas, and for the company’s egg products division. Thompson held management positions with Sonstegard Foods of Georgia and Supreme Egg Products before joining Cal-Maine Foods. Thompson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in business management.

“We are pleased to recognize Tim Thompson for his 19 years of service to Cal-Maine Foods,” said Dolph Baker, chairman, president and CEO of Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. “This appointment reflects his hard work and dedication to the company and his extensive background in the egg industry. Tim is already very familiar with our operations and customers in Arkansas, and he brings the right mix of production and field operations experience to this position. We are confident he will continue this good work as a member of our management team, and we look forward to his contributions as we execute our growth strategy.”
