Novus employees help fight summer hunger

Novus and its employees are contributing to the 2015 food drive for the St. Louis Area Foodbank, which will provide more than 78,000 meals.

For many families, summer means warm weather, outdoor games and vacations. But for more than 19 million American children, who depend on free or reduced lunch programs during the school year, summer can be a time of uncertainty. When school is out during the summer months, the lack of access to meals and limited resources can mean some children are worried more about where their next meal will come from and less about their summer activities.

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is on the front lines of the fight against summer hunger, and Novus is proud to support its efforts with Novus's Freedom from Summer Hunger campaign. For the fifth consecutive year, Novus International is supporting local families by contributing more than $19,000 towards the St. Louis Area Foodbank's efforts to alleviate hunger in 26 Missouri and Illinois counties. Thanks to the generosity of Novus's employees and Novus's donation matching program, more than 78,000 meals can be provided from the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

"Sometimes, extenuating circumstances mean St. Louis area families rely on the St. Louis Area Foodbank for meals," commented David Friedman, Chief Financial Officer at Novus. "With a corporate vision to help feed the world affordable, wholesome food and achieve a higher quality of life, we recognize that it begins right here at home. We're proud to support the food bank's efforts."

Since 2010, Novus International and its employees have donated more than $72,000 to the St. Louis Area Foodbank, totaling 288,000 meals to families.
