New Zealand free range egg producers unite

Egg Producers Federation meets to protect consumers' interests while meeting increased demand for free range eggs

The need to protect consumers' interests while meeting increased demand for free range eggs was the subject of the first ever major gathering of New Zealand's free range egg producers in Auckland at the end of February this year, according to the Egg Producers Federation press release.

The meeting focused on how the industry could ensure that consumers were provided with safe and high quality free range eggs, now and in the future.

“Our free range industry members are dedicated to protecting the safety and quality of free range eggs and the well-being of their flocks,” said Michael Brooks, executive director of the Egg Producers Federation. “This is particularly important given the increasing demand for free range eggs.”
