Poultry forum contest winner announced

During the 2009 International Poultry Scientific Forum, Casey Waneck, of College Station, Texas, received a certificate of achievement for the outstanding graduate student research presentation at the annual meeting of the Southern Poultry Science Society, according to a Biomin press release.

During the 2009 International Poultry Scientific Forum, Casey Waneck, of College Station, Texas, received a certificate of achievement for the outstanding graduate student research presentation at the annual meeting of the Southern Poultry Science Society, according to a Biomin press release. Her presentation was titled, “Reducing gangrenous dermatitis: How probiotics can play a role in commercial poultry. Using probiotics: Biomin PoultryStar.”

The 2009 International Poultry Scientific Forum was held Jan. 26-27, 2009, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. The forum was sponsored by the Southern Poultry Science Society, the Southern Conference on Avian Diseases, and the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association. The forum presented information on industry topics such as environmental management, nutrition, physiology, pathology, processing and products, and avian diseases.
