Two-year-old Wahyu Ibnu Saputra, who died last week in Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia, has been confirmed to have died from the bird flu virus, according to a story from The Jakarta Post.
The cause of death was confirmed through blood samples, and the virus was contracted through dead chickens, officials said.
The bird flu death toll in Indonesia was 119 in early April, according to the national bird flu commission.
Residents of the Tanjung Rhu village have been urged to seek a medical check up.
