Winner of Nor-Feed Award announced

Researcher was recognized for his studies of the nutritional role of Moringa oleifera extracts on broilers

Karthivashan Govindarajan, PhD candidate, won the first Veterinarian Nor-Feed Award for his work on the nutritional role of Moringa oleifera extracts on broilers.

His thesis, published this year, was conducted with the scientific team of the Universiti Putra Malaysia. Their works identified and highlighted the role of this plant’s active compounds on production performance and quality of poultry meat, in particular by improving the broilers’ antioxidant status.

“I am a strong believer in the elite potential of natural products as the source of active candidates in the field of nutrient supplement in both human and animal health and nutrition,” said the prize winner. “Adapting and optimizing Moringa oleifera leaves extract as a dietary supplement will surely help the researchers, farmers and feed professionals to provide an efficient and cost-effective feed for broilers.”
