Brazilian chicken meat exports (including all products such as whole chicken, cuts, salted, processed and sausages) reached 399.9 thousand tons in December, 14.3 percent higher than December 2014 results in terms of volume, reported the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). The monthly result is the second higest in the history of chicken exports for the sector.
“This was the best result registered by chicken meat exporters for the month of December. The international market is still booming for Brazilian exporters who have been expanding their businesses, particularly to the Middle East and Asia”, explained Ricardo Santin, vice president for chicken products at ABPA.
As such, the accumulated result for chicken meat reached 4.304 million tons in 2015 – a historic result for chicken exports.
“This volume is 5 percent greater than the total reached in 2014, confirming the figures expected by ABPA for the year. Not only does Brazil confirm its world leadership with this outcome but also expands its contribution and is responsible for approximately 37 percent of world exports”, adds ABPA Executive President Francisco Turra.
