"Taste of the U.S.A." will feature meat, poultry and egg products at Gulfood in Dubai

The USA Poultry & Egg Export Council, the U.S. Dairy Export Council and the U.S. Meat Export Federation will showcase U.S. cheese, meat, poultry and egg products in “Taste of the U.S.A.” at Gulfood in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) has teamed up with the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) and U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) to showcase U.S. cheese, meat, poultry and egg products in “Taste of the U.S.A.” at Gulfood in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Gulfood will be held Feb. 21-25, 2016, at the Dubai World Trade Center. “Taste of the U.S.A.” culinary demonstrations will take place in Za’abeel Pavilion, Stand D-70, near Salon Culinaire, Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 to 17:30.

“USAPEEC’s presence at Gulfood has grown substantially over the years, indicating the importance of the Middle East for U.S. poultry and egg exports,” said USAPEEC President Jim Sumner. “This year, we’re partnering with two U.S. export organizations to promote ‘Taste of the U.S.A.’ for the first time at Gulfood and we are looking forward to showcasing U.S. products to buyers and chefs.”

USAPEEC’s culinary demonstrations are funded in part by the American Egg Board and Indiana Soybean Alliance.

USAPEEC has tapped PI. Dubai executive chef Joe Truex to cook up healthful U.S. poultry and egg dishes, and USDEC will bring in American cheese consultant Mark Todd, better known as “The Cheese Dude.”

“The United States is little known for making cheese, let alone high-end cheeses, so USDEC’s participation in Gulfood and the Salon Culinaire has been a great way to share this well-kept secret of the U.S. dairy industry,” said USDEC’s Vice President of Cheese Marketing, Angélique Hollister. “Our partnership this year with
USAPEEC and USMEF is a wonderful way to show chefs and buyers that the U.S. is a great one-stop shop for all their agricultural product needs.”

Dubai’s Raviz-Centre Point Hospitality Culinary Director Robin Gomes will demonstrate U.S. beef products for USMEF.

“For many years, Gulfood has been a key marketing opportunity for U.S. red meat exporters serving the Middle East,” said USMEF President and CEO Philip Seng. “But over time, we have also seen Gulfood mature into a truly global event, attracting buyers and other industry contacts from a very large and diverse region that
includes Asia and Africa. We look forward to partnering with USAPEEC and USDEC to make Gulfood 2016 an even more effective venue for expanding U.S. exports.”
