H.J. Baker announces new corporate quality director

H. J. Baker has hired Karen Etter as corporate quality director for all divisions.

Baker is committed to meeting the ever-growing demand for new and innovative products across the markets the company serves. The hiring of Karen Etter as corporate quality director for all divisions of H.J. Baker, is a crucial step in delivering the consistent level of product quality needed to meet market demands with a new and expanded product portfolio for the global market.

“Delivering the highest possible product quality across the board is a key pillar for our company’s success, now and into the future,” said Steve Azzarello, vice president of Sales and Marketing. “Karen’s experience and expertise in quality assurance will be a great asset to H.J. Baker, but more importantly, to our customers. Karen will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the industry’s highest standards for quality as we grow our business and expand our portfolio of innovative solutions.”

Etter will provide leadership to the entire quality team – supporting the company as H.J. Baker works to expand its product lines – while overseeing adherence to company quality metrics, and working in coordination with logistics.

Etter is a graduate of Elmira College, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry and brings over 20 years of quality assurance experience with her to H.J. Baker. Most recently, Etter worked for Milk Specialties Global as the manager of corporate quality assurance, where she supported six manufacturing facilities and was the subject matter expert in developing food safety, quality and training programs. She also spent time working at Mars Pet Food, Land o’ Lakes/ Purina Feed, Southwest Cheese Company and Kraft Foods.
