Canada: Grain stocks down from year ago

Canadian wheat in storage has declined almost one-third

The amount of wheat still in storage in Canada at the end of March was down almost one-third from a year ago. According to Statistics Canada , that's mainly the result of a 25 percent drop in wheat production last year. Durum stocks fell 35 percent, to 2.1 million metric tons. Total stocks of canola stored in Canada are 22 percent below a year ago, while barley stocks are down about 2.5 percent. Corn stocks are at record levels, according to the agency.
