Manna Pro Products LLC is voluntarily recalling a single lot (MADE 11/23/15 WP-2) of Manna Pro Chick Starter Medicated, UPC 0 95668 10555 6, packaged in 25 pound bags because it may contain excessive salt.
Symptoms of excessive salt intake include increased water consumption, anorexia and weight loss, and may lead to death. Symptoms may be more pronounced when water intake is limited.
The bags are yellow and white in color and made of woven plastic. The lot number (MADE 11/23/15 WP-2) is printed on the white strip sewn across the bottom of the bag.
This feed was distributed November 23, 2015, through April 7, 2016, to retail stores in California, Nevada, Oregon and Hawaii. Stores that received the product from the lot in question have removed it from their shelves.
The issue was discovered through customer feedback. To date, three customers have reported losses in their flocks. Testing of samples submitted by customers has shown an elevated level of salt. Customers who purchased Manna Pro Chick Starter Medicated (MADE 11/23/15 WP-2) 25 pound bags should stop feeding the product immediately and contact Manna Pro at the phone number below for a full refund.
This limited voluntary recall applies only to Manna Pro Chick Starter Medicated (MADE 11/23/15 WP-2) 25 pound bags. No other Manna Pro products and no other lots or sizes of Chick Stater Medicated are involved.
