The Manitou Group has opened a Manitou Center in Malaysia to better serve its customers there and to develop its activities in the area. This is the first Manitou Center based in Asia. The company decided to operate directly in Malaysia, where the market already has telescopic trucks. The country represents an important existing and potential market to the Manitou Group, because it serves sectors that require materials handling equipment.

The Manitou Center Malaysia sells and rents telescopic trucks, machines under the brands Manitou, Gehl and Mustang. The facility also offers spare parts, guarantee extensions, financing and full service contracts. The center represents the second-largest fleet of Manitou telescopic trucks in Asia, requiring a commercial presence and increased provision of services on site.

The facility enables Manitou to be present in certain zones with the assurance of supplying user customers with high-quality equipment and all of the corresponding services. The initiative enables the group to be engaged with what’s happening on the ground, keeping customers as the focus of decision making.

Manitou Center Malaysia is initially targeting the construction, rental and oil markets, plus possible developments in other sectors. Malaysia is also a large exporter of palm oil, in which materials handling is essential.

Manitou Center Malaysia occupies a surface area of 900 m² dedicated to these markets and including a sales area, spare parts shop and offices.
