Brazilian pork exports grow 16.74% in February

In February, Brazil shipped 46 thousand tons of pork, an increase of 16.74% in relation to February 2008, according to Brazilian newspaper Gazeta Mercantil.

Russia was responsible for the strong export results. Russia bought 24.65 thousand tons, an increase of 68.94% compared to last February, to replenish its low stocks resulting from drastic import cutbacks in November and December.
