To support continued growth across the Butterball brand, the company has appointed two senior vice presidents.

Steve Canale was recently named senior vice president of foodservice sales and Suzanne Griffin was appointed as senior vice president and general counsel.

Steve Canale offers 30 years of experience in foodservice industry

Canale, now with 30 years in the foodservice industry, will continue to lead development and execution of strategy of national account and foodservice distribution sales. Canale joined Butterball in 2008 as the vice president of foodservice sales. During this time, he and his team successfully worked with key foodservice distributors to utilize patron data into the development of solutions for the distributors.

Canale’s responsibilities expanded in 2015 to include the foodservice national account business. Through his leadership and market insight, he developed and launched new product concepts for key national accounts that benefitted their business and our brand.

As a proven leader, Canale draws on his team’s skills to develop innovative ways to keep Butterball in the forefront with customers. Since joining the company in 2008, Canale is credited for growing Butterball’s food service distribution business.

Suzanne Griffin offers expertise in legal service in agriculture

Griffin, with over 20 years of legal experience in the protein and agri-business industries, joined Butterball in 2012 as vice president and general counsel. She quickly became an invaluable asset to Butterball as she brought with her a broad legal background in agriculture industry, and was able to provide insightful legal advice to senior management. She played a significant role in Butterball’s acquisition strategy, leading to new initiatives and company growth. She is responsible for the management of the company’s legal affairs, intellectual property oversight and also serves as the company’s corporate secretary.

Prior to joining Butterball, Griffin was a partner at Poyner Spruill, LLP. She also spent three years as deputy general counsel at the US bank subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada and has significant agriculture law experience from her eight years in leadership roles with Continental Grain Company. Griffin has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois, College of Agriculture and a Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University School of Law.
