Simmons Prepared Foods has promoted Marie Lee to vice president of finance. She previously served the company as controller of further processing.

Lee and her team, according to a press release from the company, will provide the financial analysis that drives performance improvements, positioning the company’s poultry operations for growth.

She began her career with Simmons fifteen years ago, when she was hired to create the cost accounting department for the company. Since then, her experience includes an operational position as the controller for Siloam Springs Further Processing as well as collaborative accounting for poultry sales and marketing.  

“We’re very pleased to announce this promotion for Marie,” said Brian Dietrich, vice president of financial reporting, analysis and control. “The combination of her industry experience and accounting expertise will play a key role in analyzing opportunities for Simmons to grow.”

Lee joined Simmons in 2001 from Sanderson Farms, where she was the accountant for a fully cooked chicken production facility. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and management in 1998.
