While Mexico remains the largest importer of U.S. broilers during the month of July, Cuba became the second largest importer during that month, according to the USDA’s Livestock & Meat International Trade Data report, issued in September.
Using data from the USDA Economic Research Service (ERS) the report showed that about 111 million pounds of U.S. broilers were shipped to Mexico during July, a decline from the 121.4 million pounds shipped there in June and 135.5 million pounds in July 2015.
Cuban trade appears to be on the rise as an estimated 47.7 million pounds was exported to Cuba in July, up from the 24.1 million pounds shipped there in June, and 10.4 million pounds exported during July 2015. With the new figures, Cuba surpassed Canada as the No. 2 destination for U.S. broilers, despite month-over-month gains for Canadian importation. About 31.1 million pounds of U.S. broilers were shipped to Canada in July, up from the 30.4 million pounds recorded in June.

- Angola
- Philippines
- Vietnam
- Kazakhstan
Other countries with shipments that exceed 10 million pounds are Chile, Georgia, Haiti and Colombia. The report also provided figures for U.S. broiler exports to Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Congo, Ghana, Turkey and Jamaica.
