Southeast Asia pork exports are up 173% to 4,361 metric tons (9.6 million pounds) in November 2008, according to a report by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The January through November total was at 54,840 metric tons (120.9 million pounds), an increase of 328%, with the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore as the largest markets. Recent exports to Vietnam have declined dramatically due primarily to greater supply and lower prices in China, but exports to the Philippines and Singapore remain higher than historical levels.
