Dr. Jain retires from Cobb

Cobb-Vantress has presented Dr. Gendalal Jain with a specially commissioned Chinese painting  in recognition of his retirement from Venkateshwara Hatcheries in India

Cobb-Vantress Inc. has presented Dr. Gendalal Jain with a specially commissioned Chinese painting depicting a hen chasing a butterfly. He received the gift in recognition of his retirement from Venkateshwara Hatcheries in India, after 35 years of work at the company’s research farm in Pune.

Pelayo Casanovas, general manager of Cobb in the Asia-Pacific region, said that Dr. Jain had achieved “outstanding work at the Venco research farm in developing the Cobb 100, 400 and 430 and retaining the major market share for several consecutive years in India.”

“The key decision that Dr. Jain made was to develop a specific breeding program in India,” Casanovas said. “He had to convince the geneticists at Cobb that selecting in that environment would be beneficial, and time has proved him right.”
