The President and CEO of Olymel L.P., Réjean Nadeau, has garnered the Desjardins Tribute Grand Bâtisseur Award 2016. Desjardins Group President, Guy Cormier Nadeau, presented the award recently in Quebec City, during a Desjardins Quebec Entrepreneur Awards gala. After receiving the honor, Nadeau remarked that no man can build a company like Olymel alone, adding that he wanted to share the award with all Olymel employees, the company's owners, and members of the management team.

The award recognizes an entrepreneur who is an undisputed leader in his industry and is recognized in the community as a model of success and commitment. The winner must have made an outstanding contribution to the growth and expansion of the company he leads.

At the event, La Coop fédérée President, Ghislain Gervais, highlighted Nadeau's leadership qualities. He said, "For La Coop fédérée, this tribute is well deserved and Nadeau's track record amply justifies his being included in the pantheon of Quebec entrepreneurs.”

The Desjardins Tribute Grand Bâtisseur Award was first awarded in 2011. Nadeau is the sixth recipient following Guy Laliberté of Cirque du Soleil, Pierre Claprood of Agropur, Alain Bouchard of Couche-Tard, brothers Alain, Bernard and Laurent Lemaire of Cascades, and Serge Godin of CGI.

"We are proud of everything Réjean Nadeau has accomplished throughout his career and at Olymel," said Paul Beauchamp, Senior Vice President, Olymel L.P. “Speaking for myself and on behalf of all members of the executive committee and all Olymel employees, I salute our president's commitment to our company, his vision and the inspiration he represents for all of us. Olymel would not be the leader of the agri-food industry in Quebec, as well as all of Canada, without the effort, will and talent Réjean Nadeau has invested in our company.”
