Approximately 300 members of Majlis Permuafakatan Ummah (Pewaris) gathered in front of the Bandar Baru Bangi Stadium near Kuala Lumpur on December 29, 2008, to hand over a memorandum seeking assistance from PAS, the Islamic Party of Malaysia, in resolving the problems regarding the pig-farming project in Masjid Tanah, Malacca.
Minor commotion resulted when Pewaris members were prevented from entering a talk on abolishing the Internal Security Act organized by PAS, according to Malaysia's leading English-language newspaper, The Star Online.
After reaching a negotiation, PAS organizers allowed five Pewaris members to enter the stadium and Pewaris deputy chairman Rahimuddin Md Harun handed the memorandum to PAS vice-president Mohamad Sabu.
