An apparent argument at a Tyson Foods poultry plant in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, led to the stabbing of two workers, one of whom has died.

The Wilkesboro Police Department (WPD) received a 911 call from someone at the Tyson facility around 5:41 p.m. on December 5. According to a press release from the WPD, employees were exiting the building and officers were met by Tyson Foods security workers.

Workers pointed out the suspect, Sein Win, High Point, North Carolina, to officers. He was taken into custody without resistance.

The two victims were identified as Marco Mariano Alva, Wilkesboro, and John Tyler Fox, Lenoir, North Carolina. Both had multiple stab wounds and were taken to a nearby hospital. Alva died from injuries he received in the incident. Fox underwent emergency surgery, but an updated health status for him has not been released.

Criminal charges

Win was initially charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. However, those charges were announced before Alva’s death. The WPD is now in the process of filing a first-degree murder charge against Win, the department stated.

Win was placed in custody at the Wilkes County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond.
