Vietnam increases import duty on pork

Vietnam's Finance Ministry has decided to increase the import duty on pork from 25 percent to 27 percent, according to the Vietnamese News Agency.

The Vietnam Association of Feeds for Animal Husbandry said that pork accounts for more than 80 percent of the gross meat market volume in Vietnam. The report noted that the relatively low level of import duty on meat in Vietnam had caused problems for domestic meat producers, who have been hit by higher input costs, especially feed costs.
