Already a top Russian producer of pork and beef, Miratorg has strengthened its position in these sectors with increases in output in these two sectors in 2016, as well as in poultry and further processed meat products.

Compared with 2015, the company increased its pork output, expressed in liveweight for slaughter, by 6.2 percent to 409,000 metric tons (mt), according to the firm’s website. The plant for its pig business, SC Korocha, ran at full capacity last year and processed 3.34 million pigs in 2016. Pig meat output was 6 percent higher than in 2015 at 323,600 mt. Miratorg achieved a 23 percent increase in its volume of pork products for consumers in 2016.

Bryansk Broiler, Miratorg’s poultry business, ranks in the top 10 of poultry producers in Russia. It achieved a 37 percent increase in output last year to more than 102,000 mt, the company says. This was achieved as the result of the launch of new poultry meat product lines, and a high-tech plant with a processing capacity of 13,500 birds per hour.

A fully integrated business, Bryansk Broiler comprises a feed mill with a capacity of 360,000 mt per year, hatchery for 75 million eggs and 19 poultry and meat processing sites. The company is certified to export to the European Union, Serbia, the United Arab Emirates and Iran.

Already the largest agri-food employer in the region, Bryansk Broiler created 186 new jobs last year, bringing its total work force to more than 2,470.

Miratorg’s beef division, Bryansk Meat Company, produced 62,140 mt of high quality meat products in 2016, an increase of 53 percent from the previous year. The meat supplies the Russian market, following the strategy of import substitution.
