Eldorado opens new hatchery in Colombia

A new hatchery by Inversiones Eldorado S.A.S. in Sicamota, Santander, Colombia, was opened recently.

The beautiful Andean Cordillera Oriental mountain range was the backdrop for the recent opening of a new hatchery by Inversiones Eldorado S.A.S. in Sicamota, Santander, Colombia. Local dignitaries, company executives and guests were on hand to celebrate the launch of the state-of-the-art operation, which features Jamesway Incubator Company equipment and profiles of its Platinum 2.0 single-stage machines. The site includes 12 Platinum 120 Incubators and 8 P30 Hatchers.

The entire building has been outfitted to the highest standards, and the facility is one of the most modern in the industry. The hatchery will have a capacity to produce 440,000 chicks a week, and plans are already in the works for an expansion to double that output. The first hatch of broiler chicks will be breaking out in mid-March.
