Neovia will acquire Apligén, a Mexican company specializing in the production of premix, specialty feed and additives. This will complete its premix business with technological and high-quality products and services under the company’s Wisium Brand, to meet Mexico’s nutrition market increasing demand for more technologies, technical expertise and quality.

Apligén is a family-run company that is recognized for its quality products (premix, specialty feed, additives) and services. The company has an annual turnover of about EUR30 million (US$32.7 million), benefits from strong positions in ruminants and swine, and has been steadily developing for several years. Today, it ranks seventh among the country’s premix and firm-services players. Based in the State of Mexico, the company has 84 employees, a production site, and four warehouses around the country.

Hubert de Roquefeuil, CEO of Neovia, stated that “by incorporating Apligén into Wisium, Neovia Group furthers its strategic commitment to investing in premix and firm services worldwide. The acquisition of Apligén materializes Neovia’s confidence in Mexico’s growth potential and its desire to build a world leader in premix and firm-services around its international Wisium brand.”

Through this acquisition, Neovia becomes one of the top five players in the country’s premix and firm services business in Mexico. It will now be equipped to accompany the growing maturity of the Mexican animal nutrition market and to provide a broader range of quality and standardized products and services through a larger distribution network.

Mexico is the world’s 11th most populous country and is experiencing continued population growth. This dynamic results in a steady increase in the country’s animal nutrition market (2 to 3 percent per year) ranking Mexico among the major world producers in several key species: sixth in beef, fifth in poultry, and sixth in egg production.

“This acquisition will help Apligén accelerate its development in Mexico through existing synergies with Neovia’s Wisium activities. It will also give us the opportunity to build on Neovia’s nutritional expertise, global R&D and innovation network. These synergies will translate into an increased dynamic of our portfolio of products and services and improved customer satisfaction,” said Guillermo Carsolio, managing director of Apligén.
